    Stonesifer was a three-year letterwinner in football and one of a long line of standout ends at Northwestern. He established Big Ten records with 28 catches for 394 yards in six conference games as a senior captain, and also set the school's single-game mark with 13 receptions against Minnesota - a mark that stood for 32 years.

    Overall, he led the Wildcats that year with 42 catches for 560 yards. Stonesifer was a unanimous All-Big Ten and All-America selection in 1950. In addition, he played in the 1951 College All-Star Game, the East-West Shrine Game and the Senior Bowl.
