Chris Simonson Position: Assistant Director of Broadcast Operations Alma Mater: Northwestern University

Chris Simonson, a native of Ames, Iowa, came to Evanston, Ill., in 2007 as a Northwestern University undergraduate studying Radio/Television/Film. He began working part-time for the Athletic Communications office as a freshman work-study student. After completing his Bachelor of Science degree in 2011, Simonson was hired full-time as the assistant director of broadcast operations.

In this role, Simonson is responsible in part for all promotional videos and interviews on NUsports.com, live-event streaming including Big Ten Network StudentU productions, producing content for The Pat Fitzgerald Show and Wildcat Fastbreak, as well as other departmental-wide new media projects. He also works closely with the Big Ten Network and other broadcasting networks in covering Northwestern University athletics. Notable projects include the PersaStrong highlight video on PersaStrong.com and the new motion-graphic elements for the Welsh-Ryan Arena digital scorer's table.
