    Contemporary Era:
    1993 Inductee

Sarkisian was one of the finest linemen to play football at Northwestern. He served as captain of the school's 1949 Rose Bowl champions. He helped lead the 1948 squad to a thrilling, come-from-behind 20-14 New Year's Day Classic win over California.

Sarkisian, a center, was a three-time letterman for the Wildcats and was an All-America and All-Big Ten selection as a senior in 1948. He also represented Northwestern as a member of the College All-Star Team that played in the annual classic with the defending NFL champion in Chicago's Soldier Field on 1949.

Sarkisian was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 11th round of the 1947 NFL Draft, and was later elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1998.
