    Paul Kennedy Tabbed Assistant A.D. for Athletic Communications

    Massachusetts native most recently worked with Chicago Blackhawks

    Paul Kennedy joined Northwestern University as the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications in July of 2012 and is responsible for overseeing all of the department's media relations, public relations, and new media initiatives.

    Kennedy, 30, joined the Wildcats after three seasons with the National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks. He helped the organization capture the 2011 Dick Dillman Award as the best media relations department in the NHL's Western Conference, and managed media relations during the club's historic run to the 2010 Stanley Cup Championship.

    Prior to his arrival in Chicago Kennedy served as the Director of Media & Public Relations for the Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, and previously held the same title with the Birmingham Barons, Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.

    The Massachusetts native, who studied economics at The George Washington University, resides in Chicago with his wife, Kelly.
