    Sept. 20, 2012

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern University today announced the addition of Travis Goff as the Deputy Director for Athletics and Recreation, Development. Goff joins Northwestern after more than eight years in a similar capacity at Tulane University.

Most recently, Goff served as the Associate Athletic Director/Senior Director of Athletics Development and was responsible for leading the $70 million athletics fundraising campaign entitled "Home Field Advantage" with a focus on raising funds to develop an on-campus football stadium. He led the strategic direction for athletics fundraising, personally soliciting and closing major gifts, worked with the Director of Athletics and Central Development leadership to manage the athletics prospect pool, and also oversaw the Tulane Athletics Fund, the department's annual fund program.

He was directly involved in planning the public launch of the campaign, the development of the campaign website and collateral material, and directed the comprehensive priority seating program for the new stadium. In 2011-12, Tulane Athletics raised nearly $30 million via 3,500 donors, both record-shattering results. Travis also served on the executive staff team for Tulane Athletics from 2006 until his departure.

Goff previously served as the Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs at Tulane, with oversight of development, marketing, ticket sales and operations, and communications, and as Associate Athletic Director for Development.

Prior to joining the Green Wave staff, Goff worked in development for the University of Kansas Athletics Department. A 2002 graduate of the University of Kansas with degrees in journalism and sociology, he completed his Master of Business Administration from Tulane University in August of 2007.

A native of Dodge City, Kan., Travis is married to the former Nancy Kockott, a 2005 Tulane alumna (MBA 2008) and former tennis standout for the Green Wave.
