EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern sophomore Amy Letourneau (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic) toda) of the softball team and junior Jack Perry (Santa Barbara, Calif./Santa Barbara) of the men's golf team have been named NU's Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week for their performances over the weekend.

Letourneau swept both National Player of the Week awards, earning the Louisville Slugger/NFCA honor and the USA Softball College accolade. Letourneau batted .750 (6-for-8) on the weekend with a 1.500 slugging percentage and an .818 on-base percentage, driving in six and slugging a pair of home runs. She also went 2-0 in the circle with her first-career no-hitter in Friday's contest. Letourneau began the series with the 45th no-hitter in Northwestern history, fanning 11 in a 6-2 win despite allowing 11 base runners. On Saturday, the sophomore went 3-for-3 with four RBIs, a home run and a walk. She came back on Sunday to toss another complete-game victory in a 4-2 NU win, clubbing a two-run homer in the first inning and walking twice thereafter.

Perry recorded his third top-10 finish of the season, placing ninth among the 95-individual field at the 17-team tournament with a 54-hole total of 1-under par 209. After opening with a 1-over 71, Perry carded consecutive under par 69s in the last two rounds to climb up into the top-10. Those scores were the first times this season that the incredibly consistent Perry has broken 70 despite leading the team with a 71.92 scoring average and recording 11 rounds at par or better.

This week's Community Outreach Athlete of the Week is sophomore Jess Carroll (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) of the women's lacrosse team. Carroll and several of her teammates visited Lincoln Elementary School in Evanston this week to lead several gym classes through introductory lacrosse lessons, and also speaking to the children about their lives as Northwestern student-athletes.
