EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern juniors Emily Allard (Antioch, Calif./Deer Valley) of the softball team and Spencer Wolf (Coral Springs, Fla./Laurel Springs) of the men's tennis team have been named NU's Hilton Garden Inn Athletes of the Week for their performances over the weekend.

Allard ran her current NU-season-best hitting streak to 17 games by batting .556 in four games last week, including .643 in a Big Ten series at Wisconsin. Allard started the week with a 1-for-4 game in a win over UIC before earning multi-hit games in all three contests at Wisconsin. In the opener, Allard went 2-for-4 with a run scored before finishing 3-for-5 with a run, an RBI and a steal in the second game. Allard capped the series Sunday with her second four-hit game of the season, scoring twice, driving in a run and stealing a bag in an 8-3 win. At one point between Saturday and Sunday, Allard recorded a base hit in seven-consecutive at-bats.

Wolf won both of his No. 2 singles matches in a pair of Big Ten dual wins for Northwestern last week, including a straight-sets upset of 80th-ranked Leandro Toledo of Minnesota on Saturday. That win helped the 53rd-ranked Wildcats down the 36th-ranked Gophers by a narrow 4-3 margin. On Sunday, Wolf defeated Wisconsin's Rod Carey in three sets, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 and also teamed up with Joshua Graves for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles.

This week's Community Outreach Athlete of the Week is sophomore Tyler Scott (Warren, Ohio/Howland) of the football team. Scott and several other Wildcats accompanied Pat Fitzgerald to Kingsley Elementary School last week, speaking to the students on "Wellness Wednesday" about their lives as student-athletes and the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. Afterward, the `Cats joined the students for recess and games on the playground.
