Last night, the Illinois PGA announced that our Director of Golf and head men's golf coach Pat Goss has been named the organization's Teacher of the Year for 2012. This is a prestigious and well-deserved honor for a man who previously was named one of Golf Magazine's Top 100 Teachers in America in 2007.

While this award was decided well ahead of the start of the 2012-13 Northwestern men's and women's golf seasons (and the Ryder Cup held locally at Medinah last week), all three of those events provided clear-cut evidence of Goss' teaching prowess.
While taking a week off from competition to prepare for THE PLAYERS Championship May 10-13, World No. 1 Luke Donald took part in a short game competition Thursday with the Northwestern men's golf team at The Luke Donald Short Game Facility at the Glen Club in Glenview, Ill.

Earlier in the day, Donald and Northwestern head coach Pat Goss, who has served as Donald's swing coach since his days as a Wildcat from 1997-2001, practiced at Conway Farms where Donald is a member.

Northwestern golfer Eric Chun knows what it's like to have success at the Asian Amateur Golf Championship.

In November 2009, Chun was the runner-up at the tournament's inauguration, which earned him the right to qualify for the 2010 British Open at the International Final Qualifying Stage. There, the senior shot rounds of 67-71 and sank a 6-foot birdie putt on the final hole to land a spot in his first Major Championship at legendary St. Andrews.
